台北市一名王姓女子燒炭自殺身亡，家屬質疑杜姓男子假殉情真殺人。士林地方法院審理後認為，王女確實有輕生念頭，今天依幫助自殺罪，判處杜男2年8月徒刑，可上訴。
士院判決書指出，杜姓男子的王姓女友民國104年8月間因感生無可戀而萌發輕生念頭，杜男即陪同女友購買助眠藥物、木炭，返回租屋處燒炭自殺。

杜姓男子坦承幫助自殺，但家屬質疑杜男殺人。承審合議庭調查，王女案發前關閉臉書、退出LINE群組斷絕與外界聯繫，也留下親筆遺書細數與家人相處點滴，交代未完心願，王母也指證遺書筆跡與女兒筆跡相符。
此外，屍體相驗報告指出，王女手腕有多處陳舊性割痕，可見王女早有輕生想法，而王女所服用的藥物屬錠劑，在身體無外傷且現場無打鬥抵抗跡象的情況下，應可認定王女自行吞服藥物。
杜姓男子雖辯稱欲與女友同死，但合議庭認為，杜男案發後尿液檢查，未發現與王女所服用助眠藥物的相同成分，不採信杜男殉情同死的說法。
合議庭審酌，杜姓男子年紀、閱歷都較王女豐富，明知女友意欲尋死，卻未勸阻或通知女友親友，反而幫助被害人結束生命，輕忽他人生命權，更對痛失愛女之被害人家屬造成無可彌補之傷痛，判刑2年8月。
