台大醫院爆發離譜的加護病房洗腎接錯管事件，衛福部下令三天內交出報告，消息曝光第4天，台大醫院高層下午才首度出面開記者會，鞠躬向受影響病人及家屬致歉，並提出檢討措施。儘管其中有2病患在2週後不幸往生，院方初步仍認定與事件無關，但院方也承諾，如果衛生局推翻，院方也將負起責任。

這次事件，台大加護病房共6名重症病患受到影響，雖然院方1週內讓病患接受血液細菌培養，沒有發現感染，因此判定無關連，不過接錯管是事實，同一名護理師兩度出包，5月25日8點早班就接錯一次，隔天當班又接錯管，剛好小夜護理師來交接才發現接錯管。
